Oyá Gyal
Alaafia (Welcome) and Thank you for visiting my Marketplace. You can call me "Oyá Gyal"...named in favor the West African Orisha of Storms and Change;
'The Mother of Nine', Oyá. The "Gyal" part was a reference to Author/playwright, Tarell McCraney's adaptation of Oyá and the Orishas in his play, "In The Red and Brown Water" from the
'Brother/Sister Play Trilogy'. I had the honor of performing as Oyá at Trustus Theatre, in Columbia, SC in 2015.
I Am an Artist in all forms (Musical, Theatrical, as well as Visual). I am also an Ifa, Vodoun, and New Age Practitioner and Healer. I have been on a
"Solitary Witch" path for 17 years; and have just 5 years ago begun deeper spiritual studies into Ifá, Vodoun and other African Practices.
I am Clair-Audient, Clair-Voyant, as well as Clair-Cognizant. I utilize my skills for connecting to different energies around me, through the Art of Tarot Reading.
I have been practicing Tarot for over 10 years; however, I have been reading others for 4 years now. It had always been a gift and talent of mine for being able to empathetically connect with
others through my intuition... my instincts. Which is why I've created this space; so that I may be able to share my spiritual gifts with you here.
As a result of any reading, there will be a sense of spiritual growth and openness.

I also refer to my shop as "The Marketplace", because I pay homage to the side of this Orisa that handles Great Change and Business/Business Transactions. She
represents the energies we use to trade and expand and to be apart of the infinite cycle of relay-tions. Without Oyá on my side, my Business and Passion would not be as broad and successful as it
is blossoming to be.
I also pay homage to The Marketplace being significant in the History of Africans and African Americans being brought, bought, sold and enslaved at The Marketplace;
and within the same breath, it is there that we as a culture and community thrived way before we left Africa and far after we've arrived in the New World. With bartering and trading and
showcasing our Arts and Handwork, we thrived in the Marketplace Lifestyle; slowly but surely rising and prospering to independence.
